Why cash assistance instead of goods? As we communicate regularly with the families under our care, we realise that each family have their own unique struggles and circumstances. Understandably, different family have different preferences, or due to certain sickness, they have a certain diet or food intake to observe. Some, paying rent is the first thing on their list each month, while for others is to obtain certain treatment or medication. The priorities and commitments of each family are different hence we let the family decide how they want to spend their monthly cash assistance based on their priorities. Besides its efficiency, cash assistance also empowers them to take charge and manage their finances better.
